Mayor's Message
Welcome to Cramahe!
I invite you to visit our great little community. Founded by Vermont Empire Loyalists in 1792, Cramahe is located in the heart of apple country and enjoys a rural setting in the Northumberland Hills along the north shore of Lake Ontario.
Strong roots, a strong work ethic and a passion for the rural lifestyle and small town values typify our community. I urge you to visit our largest community, the beautiful Village of Colborne, with a distinctive main square laid out in the original plan for the village in the late 1790's and a main street that was featured in Ron Brown's "Downtown Ontario: Unusual Main Streets to Explore".
Ten minutes north you'll find the hamlet of Castleton which boasts one of the longest, continually run general stores in Canada and a popular spot for ice cream in the summer. Even further north you'll find one of the few remaining remnants of tall grass prairie in Ontario both at the Red Cloud Cemetery and the Goodrich-Loomis Conservation Area.
Cramahe is also home to Hoselton Sculptures and KOKIMO Candles - both internationally recognized companies in gift shops everywhere. Come and see where and how these products are manufactured.
With breathtaking scenery, a great lifestyle, quick access to Toronto via Highway 401 and friendly, enthusiastic residents, I encourage you to visit Cramahe Township and discover for yourself why we enjoy living, working and playing here.
