2018 Municipal Election
The Municipal Clerk is responsible for the coordination and administration of the Municipal Election.

2018 MUNICIPAL COUNCIL/SCHOOL BOARD TRUSTEE ELECTION FOR THE TOWNSHIP OF CRAMAHE
The upcoming municipal council/school board trustee election is Monday, October 22, 2018.
This webpage is designed to provide you with information, which will assist you in voting. Please check back regularly as information will be updated as it becomes available.
Municipal Offices for Which Persons May be Nominated:
Mayor – 1 position
Deputy Mayor –1 position
Councillor – 3 positions
School Board Offices for Which Persons May be Nominated:
School Board Trustee – English Public - 1 position
School Board Trustee – English Separate - 1 position
School Board Trustee – French Public - 1 position
School Board Trustee – French Separate – 1 position
KEY DATES
May 1, 2018 – 1st day candidates can file nomination papers and 1st day third party advertisers can register
July 27, 2018 – Nomination Day. Last day candidates can file nomination papers
October 14-22, 2018 - Mail in Ballot Voting
October 19, 2018 – Last day third party advertisers can register
October 22, 2018 – Election Day
October 23, 2018 – Election results declared
December 1, 2018 – New term of Council commences
WHO CAN VOTE?
To be eligible to vote in a municipal election in Ontario, a person must be:
- Canadian citizen
- At least 18 years old
- Residing in the Township of Cramahe
- A non-resident owner or tenant of land in the Township of Cramahe, or their spouse
- Not prohibited from voting under any law
Students who reside “away from home” may vote in both the municipality where their family resides (their home) if it is their permanent residence and within the municipality they attend school.
VOTE BY MAIL IN BALLOT:
- Mail in Ballot is being used for the 2018 Municipal/School Board Trustee Election;
- 1 Voting Kit will be mailed to each elector on the Voters’ List, as amended, starting
- The yellow return envelope can be mailed no later than October 11, 2018 and may also be dropped off at the Ballot Return Centre - Township of Cramahe Municipal Office during normal office hours and up to 8:00 p.m. on October 22, 2018
